The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation on the Chinese currency

The U.S. House of Representatives Wednesday passed a bill to pressure China to let its currency, the yuan, to appreciate more quickly.

This bill was passed while the Americans accuse China of undervaluing its currency, which has hurt job creation in the United States.

Last Friday, the Ways and Means Committee, the most powerful committee of the House of Representatives, had supported the bill, called "Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act (Reform Act of currency for trade fair) , paving the way for the adoption of measures by the House of Representatives.

With the approach of parliamentary elections and with pressure from voters suffering from recession, lawmakers recourrent measures of sanctions against Chinese products.

On Tuesday, the Chinese government has called on U.S. lawmakers to recognize the importance of trade and economic relations between China and U.S. to avoid protectionist measures against China.

The spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry, Jiang Yu insisted that a healthy and stable development of trade and economic relations was in the interest of both countries.
