Russian researchers are praised Medvedev's visit to China

The recent state visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to China could be considered a remarkable new chapter in strengthening the strategic partnership between China and Russia, considered experts and Russian researchers on Wednesday.

Sergei Louzianine, deputy director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, said that the signing by the two heads of state of important joint statements, one on bilateral relations and on the other the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War has demonstrated the common position of the two countries on issues such as the development of bilateral relations, maintaining peace and stability and the global fight against terrorism.

In the field of economic cooperation, Mr. Louzianine said that Russia and China have also signed many agreements, particularly in the energy and investment.

More mutual investment between China and Russia will certainly strengthen the economic cooperation between the two nations, said the researcher.

Yuri Demochkine, deputy director of Russian-Chinese Center for Cooperation and Investment, told Xinhua that the visit was not only a regular meeting between two leaders, but also a summary of the Sino-Russian cooperation for the past decade and a positive signal for a bright future.

The joint Russian-Chinese oil pipeline, which was completed and began operation which could create opportunities and accelerate bilateral cooperation in other sectors, "said Demochkine.

In addition, China can share with Russia's rich experience in building and developing high-tech parks, he said.
