Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday congratulated the Chinese people on the occasion of National Day and reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to work with China to deepen bilateral relations.
"On behalf of President Barack Obama and people of the United States, I congratulate the Chinese people as it prepares to celebrate its 61st National Day on 1 October," said Secretary of State in a statement posted on Official web-site of the Department of State.
"Like millions of people around the world this year, I am privileged to participate in Shanghai Expo and see with my own eyes how China has progressed in recent years. Each visit provides new ideas to promote the vitality of this nation and the talents of its people, "she added.
Clinton's secretary of state expressed satisfaction with participating in a strategic and economic dialogue China-United States in Beijing, which proves to be the most important forum regarding the shared efforts of both countries to build a positive, cooperative and comprehensive peace between the two countries.
"The historical relations maintained between peoples are deep, and they continue to unite us together. This year we launched new initiatives to promote cultural and educational exchanges, and our goal is to send 100,000 American students to China for next four years to learn Mandarin and to inquire into the hospitality of Chinese people, "she said.
"On this festive occasion, I reaffirm the commitment of the United States to work with China to deepen our relations and I offer my best wishes to all families in China, while wishing them to spend a happy birthday, security "said the secretary.
